Director, Batch Engineering

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to drive the Batch strategy and execution of the Workload Orchestration Product roadmap that will assist our Business Partners in their Cloud Adoption and Digital transformation journey. You will work closely with the Product Owner and collaborate with the Application and Data Architects to understand the Workload Orchestration requirements and assist in formulating a Core and Common solution that will fulfil the growing needs for our business partners. You will work closely with the BU application teams to influence the broader strategic decisions and roadmaps and assist them in adopting the Enterprise recommended solutions to create enhanced Visibility and Operability.

 

The Expertise You Have and The Skills You Bring 

  • 10-15 years of Batch Engineering Experience

  • In-depth understanding of Workload Orchestration Tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Control-M and/or Autosys

  • Experience in Platform Migration from On-prem to Cloud.

  • Experience in managing both Operations and Engineering teams.

  • Experience in driving automated solutions (using tools like Ansible)

  • Knowledge and experience of cloud concepts and technologies - AWS and Azure.

  • Experience with batch processing alternatives, such as data-sharing, event-driven architecture, and streaming.

  • Good understanding of Agile & ITSM Concepts.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop new solutions and strategies.

  • Ability to effectively probe and extract information across functional teams to ensure full & complete understanding of statuses and business problems requiring solutions.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-faced environment. Consistently demonstrate a bias for action and results.

  • Working with staff and senior leaders to influence and advance issues that have a significant impact to a large portion of the organization in terms of cost, efficiency, staffing and quality.

  • Manages stakeholder relationships for multiple projects or a program; tailors’ critical information of a complex or involved nature to a variety of influential audiences; this role is sought out by senior leadership for expert opinions and recommendations on project management related matters.

  • Creating and delivering presentations to business partners, stakeholders, and leaders both within and outside of EI&O.

  • Staying current on technology trends and how they impact our developer experience solutions.
