TOPIC: Tales from the Trenches: How to Avoid IT Failure
The larger an IT project, the more likely it is to fail. Less than 3% of companies complete IT project successfully. Software projects fail at a 50% higher rate than non-software projects. In 2019, why do technology projects still fail at high rates? In this talk, recovering CIO and turn-around artist Joanna Young (@jcycio) will give five methods to reduce risk of failure and increase customer delight.
The TechWomen Power Breakfast series is part of the Alliance's TechWomen|TechGirls initiative that builds on a strong community of women enthusiastic about technology and supporting efforts where girls are exploring STEM as a career or area of study. TechWomen|TechGirls holds programs for professional women to connect, collaborate and explore ideas around career development, technology initiatives and innovation. The initiative also deploys volunteers and mentors to support academic STEM initiatives and events for girls across New Hampshire.
"We are excited to offer a place for women in the technology fields to come together and create lasting meaningful relationships while learning from each other's successes," said Candice Benson of Benson Consulting and chair of the TechWomen|TechGirls Committee. "We have a lot of brilliant women in our community and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate and support them with our power breakfast series."
The breakfast series will take place on the second Wednesday of every month.
